We have built an aggressive program through the hard work of dedicated professionals who identify qualified diverse-owned business enterprises. The annual spend has aggressively moved forward due to the increased efforts in key categories for procurement available to diverse suppliers.
Ameren has deployed a wide variety of methods to encourage and assist diverse suppliers in participation in these opportunities. Some of the methods used are mentoring, symposiums, network meetings, outreach participation, etc. We are facilitating opportunities for diverse businesses to expand their expertise in highly specialized fields that relate to the utility industry, and we have relationships with major organizations to build a network of support for diverse suppliers.
