The cost and demand for energy is increasing. To meet the future needs of our customers, AmerenUE must continue to keep costs down and provide reliable, clean energy.
AmerenUE, originally Union Electric Company, got its start by powering the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis—the 1904 World’s Fair. From that auspicious beginning, the company has grown up with St. Louis, the city it still calls home. Over the past century, UE has built power plants that can now generate at any given moment nearly 10 billion watts of electricity—300 times the amount its first plant generated.
UE recently released an Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), which details how the company expects to supply safe, reliable electricity in coming years. The plan details the importance of why UE must be a leader in reliably delivering power.
UE’s request for a price increase—to provide safe, reliable electricity while protecting the environment we all share—prepares us for meeting the energy costs and demands of tomorrow.
